About the Speaker

Dr. Niagia Santuah is the Head of the Department of Culture and Development Studies at the Millar Institute for Transdisciplinary and Development Studies in Bolgatanga. He also serves as an adjunct professor at the School of Public Health, C.K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences, and the School of Public Health, University for Development Studies.

He holds degrees in Languages (French & Kiswahili), Communication Studies (Journalism & Public Relations), Governance and Leadership, and a terminal degree in Culture and Development Studies.

As a communication scientist and food systems analyst, Dr. Santuah has spent over 25 years working across West Africa, specializing in teaching, research, capacity building, project management, and development communication. His expertise spans implementation science, ecosystems analysis, and health service operations for last-mile communities.

An award-winning journalist of international repute, Dr. Santuah has been widely published in scientific, development, and journalistic peer-reviewed journals. He currently works with the African Health Initiative Community of Practice as a Communications and Dissemination Expert, leading efforts to translate research findings into actionable policy and practice.
