Professor Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe Appointed Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Development
The Regional Institute for Population Studies (RIPS), University of Ghana, warmly congratulates Professor Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe, Professor of Population Studies and former Director of RIPS, on his appointment as Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Development (RID) at the University of Ghana, effective 1 August 2026.
Professor Codjoe has made significant contributions to RIPS, the University of Ghana, and the broader academic community through his leadership, research, teaching, and mentorship. His appointment to this key leadership position reflects his distinguished record of scholarship and service.
As part of activities marking this important milestone in his academic career, the University will host an Exhibition of Scholarly Works from 10 to 14 August 2026 at the Balme Library Seminar Room, with the opening ceremony scheduled for Monday, 10 August 2026, at 2:30 p.m.
Professor Codjoe will also deliver his Inaugural Lecture on Thursday, 13 August 2026, at 5:00 p.m. in the Great Hall, University of Ghana. The lecture, titled “Reading the Skies and Healing in the Land: Climate, Indigenous Knowledge and Health,” will showcase his contributions to research at the intersection of climate, health, and indigenous knowledge systems.
